We say it because we can show it. What follows is a season of it: the clubs we back, the kids we sponsor, and the causes we turn up for.
On and off the field
Carlin Millar wrote this to thank Geoff Bombell and David Francis. The last line is the one we keep coming back to.

Community sport
Local clubs are the backbone of a community. They bring people together, develop young talent, and create friendships that outlast any season.
Geoff Bombell puts it in his own bio: long established links to community sport here and overseas, which he says has broadened his horizons and kept him busy. That is the plain version of what this page is about.
Right now that means Nambucca Roosters, the Botany Rams juniors, Helensburgh’s open women’s side, Asian Rugby League, and a golf club on the northern beaches putting money behind a 14 year old.

Junior golf
A shoutout to Josh, President of the Mona Vale Social Golf Club, for helping rising talent Mackenzie. At just 14 she is already ranked number 14 in the world for her age group, and this contribution goes towards competing in tournaments across the country.
KARI Foundation
We were proud to play in the KARI Golf Day, hosted by the KARI Foundation, an organisation supporting Aboriginal children, families and communities through education, culture and opportunity. Days like this are about showing up.
Indigenous Round
The Nambucca Roosters’ Indigenous Round jersey featured artwork by 16 year old Gumbaynggirr artist Tehnaya West from Bowraville. The Roosters capped the day at Coronation Park with a 28–24 win over the Grafton Ghosts.
Off the field
David spent an afternoon with Nambucca Roosters players and staff, sharing practical guidance for life beyond the game. Education builds confidence, and confidence creates opportunity, in sport and in finance alike.
Junior league
Young players enjoying the game, building confidence and learning teamwork. Clubs like the Rams shape young people on and off the field, and we are glad to be part of it.
Women in league
Roger was there to watch the Helensburgh open women’s side take on competition leaders Corrimal. They pushed the reigning premiers all the way before conceding a try in the last 90 seconds, going down 22–16. A performance to be proud of.
Match day
A thrilling contest that Macksville edged 32–26 after the Roosters had built a strong lead. Congratulations to Khan Jarrett on a standout performance and a well deserved Man of the Match.
Industry
David presented under that title at the 2026 SFG National Business Leaders Retreat, hosted by William Lockett and the team at Specialist Finance Group at Lofty House, and came back energised by the conversations.

The 2025 nomination
